Frank Vignola started running jazz guitar camps in 2013 with a simple conviction: the best way to grow as a guitarist is to be in the room with great players, playing music together.

Over a decade later, that conviction hasn't changed — but the camps have grown into something remarkable. We've run camps from Colorado to New Jersey, from Cuba to Italy, welcoming adult guitarists of every level who share a love for jazz, improvisation, and the Great American Songbook.

Every camp is unique in its location, lineup, and character. But every camp shares the same core: small groups, world-class instructors, and an environment built entirely around playing. Less lecture. More music.

We believe jazz is a living language — it exists in the conversations between players, in the interplay of a jam session, in the moment when a room full of musicians locks in together. At Big Jersey, we create the conditions for those moments to happen, over and over again, all week long.

Frank Vignola

Frank is the founder of Big Jersey Guitar Camps and the musical engine behind everything we do. One of the most sought-after guitarists working today, Frank has performed with Ringo Starr, Madonna, Donald Fagen, Lionel Hampton, Tommy Emmanuel, the Boston Pops, and the New York Pops. Guitar legend Les Paul named him to his "Five Most Admired Guitarists" list in the Wall Street Journal. Every Wednesday, Frank leads his Jazz Guitar Night at Birdland in New York City.

Frank isn't just a performer of the first order — he's a natural teacher whose warmth and enthusiasm set the tone for everything at camp.
